The Israelites are ready to get into the taking of the land. I find it funny that God says to Joshua “See, I have delivered

Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men.” (Josh 6:2) I’m not sure that Joshua could see it. It was before they had started the attack. How could he see it?

Ever not known the answer. Can’t quite understand – maybe you feel you should but can’t. Still looking. Just like Bono from U2 knew the answer – knows all about Jesus but things didn’t add up. He just couldn’t come to grips with a loving God but starving children, a message of salvation, unity and hope but Irish people fighting and killing each other over Christian distinctives. He still struggles.

Yeh, I admit something’s just don’t add up. A loving God but people die in pain or hunger, I know how to live but still make mistakes, life as a Christian should be great but sometimes it’s a struggle. Ever felt like you missed something?  This passage is for you.

This is a strange chapter but it has some good stuff in there for us. Remember, the people miraculously crossed the flooded river. The water stopped and they walked on through on dry ground and it was all amazing. These are the instructions and what happened next.

JOS 3:1 Early in the morning Joshua and all the Israelites set out from Shittim and went to the Jordan, where they camped before crossing over. 2 After three days the officers went throughout the camp, 3 giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests, who are Levites, carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. 4 Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about a thousand yards between you and the ark; do not go near it.”

Rahab lied and got blessed – thus it must be OK to lie.Sorry but no.Then how can we account for this? 

 

 Who was wrong?Was Joshua told to send the spies?
Where the spies right in going to the house of a prostitute? What did they do there?
