This is a bit of a freaky passage.  Paul goes from talking about what we eat and who we eat with to talking about who he is and his status. Why what is going on?

1CO 9:1 Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you not the result of my work in the Lord? 2 Even though I may not be an apostle to others, surely I am to you! For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.

This is a strange chapter but it has some good stuff in there for us. Remember, the people miraculously crossed the flooded river. The water stopped and they walked on through on dry ground and it was all amazing. These are the instructions and what happened next.

Rahab lied and got blessed – thus it must be OK to lie.Sorry but no.Then how can we account for this? 

 

 Who was wrong?Was Joshua told to send the spies?
Where the spies right in going to the house of a prostitute? What did they do there?

It takes balance to ride a bike. That appears obvious. But that balance is put to the test when the bike is outa wack. Let me put it this way, if the wheels aren’t balanced –the bike rider uses more energy to get where he or she wants to go.   (more…)

Life is hard to balanceEven in the bible finding the balance was difficult.Look at examples in Scripture –

David, – was the friend of God, the man after God own heart yet he made some pretty big mistakes. Adultery, murder just to name a few.
